ETPU — the popcorn foam people already know.

ETPU foam molding

// The classic soft high-rebound bead foam: over 65% rebound, over 90% compression recovery, still elastic at −25°C, durable under repeated impact. It has the most public data of any elastomer here and the most predictable behaviour — raise the expansion ratio and rebound, tensile and elongation all go up while hardness comes down.

Reference values

The figures on this page are published industry and supplier values for this material family, not measured DBM product data — we do not have our own grade-level test results for ETPU yet. They are accurate enough to size a part and to rule options in or out. Final numbers are confirmed by us in writing against your part before you commit to anything.

What the data says,
and where it stops.

PropertyValueSource
Foam density180–220 kg/m³ (single bead about 140–200); molded parts 200–300 kg/m³ depending on fill
Expansion ratioabout 10×
Reboundover 65%
Compression recoveryover 90% — low permanent set
Minimum service temperature−25°C, retaining high elasticity and softness
Known relationshipExpansion ratio up gives rebound up, hardness down, tensile up, elongation up📊
Molding conditionsSteam chest 0.6–2.2 bar / 110–130°C; one grade molds steam-free at 100–150°C for 1–30 min
Weather resistanceMust be typed: aromatic MDI-based yellows badly, aliphatic HDI/IPDI-based weathers well but costs more. Tell us if the part goes outdoors📐

Why we can run it

// Soft elastomer beads need steam temperature and pressure held precisely inside a narrow window — a standard EPP machine is limited here even though the material itself is well documented.

Tell us the part and the target,
we will confirm the grade.
